Robbery – CBA Newstead

At 9.30am a male person entered the Commonwealth Bank at Newstead and after waiting for several customers in the Branch to be served, approached the female teller and handed her a demand note.

The male was then handed a sum of money  and  fled the branch on foot and was last observed crossing Elphin Roadtowards the direction of Coles car park.

The male is descibed as mid 30's, slim build, 170cm, pitted/acne face, tear drop tattoo on left cheek under eye. Wearing a light brown beanie with stripes, black sunglasses, brown zip-up jacket with two white stripes on each arm, carrying a back pack.

No person was injured in the robbery and no firearm, knife or other weapon was observed by staff.

Staff at the Branch were very shaken by the incident.
