At 5pm Monday 2 September 2013 police were called by the male occupant of an address in Orana Place Riverside.

On arrival police found two deceased persons in the house.

Launceston CIB and Forensic Services Science Tasmania attended the scene and overnight investigated the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The Coroners Office was notified and post mortems will be conducted in Hobart later in the day.

It appears at this stage to be an apparent murder suicide.
