As a result of information received from a member of the public, members of Glenorchy CIB and Uniform executed a search at a residence in Goodwood on Monday 30 September 2013.   The search was in relation to a large quantity of firearms being stored unlawfully.

22 x unregistered firearms, 5 prohibited firearms, ammunition, fireworks and suspected stolen property was recovered at the residence.  Police also seized 23 registered firearms which were stored correctly.

The 48 year old man, who lived at the residence, has been charged with a number of firearms offences including; possess prohibited firearms, possess ex-military firearms and light ordnance and fail to comply with storage requirements.  The man will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in November.
