71 year old Hobart man appeared today in the Hobart Magistrates Court charged with 20 counts of indecent assault and 2 counts of sexual intercourse with a young person.

He was not required to plea and was bailed to reappear at Hobart Magistrate’s Court on 9 July.

The man was charged by police on 23 May 2014.

The charges relate to alleged offences committed on the West Coast, North West Coast, King Island and Hobart areas between 1968 and 1993.

As the complainants in these matters were children at the time of alleged offences, no further details can be released by police.

Investigations are continuing.
