ATM Burglary at Tasmania Zoo – Ecclestone Road, Riverside

Between 4am and 6am on Monday 30 June 2014, Tasmania Zoo, Ecclestone Road, Riverside, has been unlawfully entered.

The offenders cut the boundary fence of the property and used manual tools to force open the ATM.

A small quantity of cash was stolen and the ATM was destroyed in the burglary.

Some firearm parts and a quantity of ammunition were also stolen during the incident. These were being stored in accordance with legislation.

Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch is currently investigating this matter and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously or vehicles near the Tasmania Zoo, or on Ecclestone Road, Riverside this morning.
