Launceston detectives are investigating a deliberate fire at a vacant house at 421 Wellington Street South Launceston at approximately 9:50pm on 1 July 2014.

At this time an unknown offender has ignited a curtain through a window at the front of the house causing minor damage. This house was also the subject of a similar act at 10.50pm on 27 June 2014 where an accelerant was used on that occasion. On both occasions the Tasmania Fire Service quickly extinguished the fires with only minor damage sustained.
