Thefts of motorcycles in Chigwell area

MR14217 Stolen Motorbike picPolice investigators are appealing for public information about the theft of a motorbike in Chigwell in the early hours of Monday morning.

It is the third theft of a motorbike or motorbike equipment in the area in the last 10 days.

The orange and black KTM 300cc motorbike was stolen from a shed at a house in Chigwell sometime between 1am and 10am on Monday.

In the last 10 days a red Honda CRF450 motorcycle was stolen from a shed in Claremont and a motorcycle helmet, gloves, knee guards, armour and boots stolen from a shed in Berriedale.

Investigating officer, Senior Constable Jennifer Wood, said:

“While any theft is unacceptable, this is a particularly concerning number of thefts in the same area in a short space of time.

“There is nothing at this stage to suggest the thefts are linked but it is a clear reminder of the need to ensure sheds and garages are well secured.

“We would like to hear from anyone who might have information that could help our investigations.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Glenorchy Police Station on 6230 2111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
