A 43 year old man from New Norfolk has been proceeded against by summons after an incident in Herdsmans Cove on 28 February this year.

It will be alleged he assaulted a 19 year old man. The man was not injured in the alleged assault.

The 43 year old is a Constable in the Southern District. He was on-duty at the time of the alleged offence and was conducting a vehicle intercept.

He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 22 August 2014.

The officer has been placed into a non-operational role.
