At 10:45pm Monday 28 July 2014 police were called to Murrayfield Court, Glenorchy in relation to an assault.

A 22 year old Kingston man was located with facial injuries after being struck with a fence paling. He was transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital by ambulance and remains at the hospital for treatment at this time.

A 19 year old Bridgewater man was arrested near the scene by police. He has been charged with one count of Criminal Code Assault and was detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court later this morning.

Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed or heard a disturbance in the Murrayfield Court area at the time of the incident or anyone who may have seen a group of around ten people, both males and females, aged between 15-25 years old in the Tolosa Street area around the time of the incident.
