Footpath Robbery at New Norfolk

Detectives from Bridgewater CIB are investigating a robbery against a man which occurred in New Norfolk last night.

A 21 year old man was walking along the Scenic Track at about 7:00pm between Humphrey Street and The Avenue in New Norfolk when he was approached by three young male offenders while another two young men watched on.

One of the young offenders assaulted the man by striking him with what was believed to be a metal star picket.

As a result, the man fell over and the offenders were able to remove $250.00 from the man’s wallet.

The young male offenders then fled the area in the direction of The Avenue and Lower Road.

Detectives and local police resources searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the offenders.

The offenders are described as being about 15-17 years old, small builds, and wearing mostly black clothing.  The offender responsible for assaulting the man was wearing a black hoodie style jumper with a skull on the front face of the hood.

The offenders are believed to have left on foot and may have been observed in the general area surrounding The Avenue at New Norfolk around 7:00pm on Thursday evening.
