The National Police Memorial Flag Blessing Ceremony - Hobart

A Flag Blessing Ceremony was held at the Police Academy on Friday, 8 September 2006 with some family members in attendance. The Ceremony offered a symbolic recognition of the 18 members of Tasmania Police who have died in the line of duty with the lighting of a candle representing each memember. This was performed by family members in attendance and, for absent families, by members of the Tasmania Police contingent to the Dedication Ceremony. The gathering then proceeded to the Police Chapel where the Tasmania Police flag was blessed. The flag was flown at the Dedication of the National Police Memorial at Canberra.
