Corporate Management Group (CMG)

Executive direction and policy decisions are made by the CMG which comprises:

Commissioner (Jack Johnston);
Deputy Commissioner (Darren Hine);
Assistant Commissioner Crime and Operations (Scott Tilyard);
Assistant Commissioner Planning and Development (Phil Wilkinson); and the
Director, Corporate Services (Scott Wilson-Haffenden).

The Commissioner of Tasmania Police is also the Secretary of the Department of Police and Emergency Management. He reports directly to the Minister, The Hon Jim Cox. The Minister is an elected representative of the people of Tasmania.

On a day-to-day basis, the Deputy Commissioner has line responsibility for the Service. The Assistant Commissioners are responsible for developing executive policy, strategic planning and management of the Service. The Director, Corporate Services, is responsible for administration and support services.
