Introduction to the Commanders
Each of the four geographical districts and support command areas has a separate Commander. The following sections details on each commander and their district or command responsibility.

Commander Geoff Smith - Western District (Covering the Municipalities of Burnie, Central Coast, Circular Head, Devonport, Kentish, King Island, Latrobe, Waratah/Wynyard and West Coast). |

Commander Glenn Frame - Northern District (Covering the Municipalities of Break O’Day, Dorset, Flinders, George Town, Launceston, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands, West Tamar).

Commander Peter Edwards - Southern District (Covering the Municipalities of Glenorchy, Hobart, Huon Valley and Kingborough). |

Commander Tom Tully - Eastern District (Covering the Municipalities of Brighton, Central Highlands, Clarence, Derwent Valley, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Sorell and Southern Midlands). |

Commander Michael Brazendale - Operations Support (Operations Support contains a number of specialist policing functions that provide a Statewide support to regional policing services). |

Commander Stephen Bonde - Executive Support (Executive Support's major role is to provide an advisory, research and secretarial facility to the department). |

Commander Donna Adams - Human Resources (Human Resources integrates training and personal development policy, personal performance, and provides a support structure for sworn and unsworn members of the department). |

Commander Peter Wild - Internal Investigations (Internal Investigations has Statewide responsibility for the investigation of serious complaints against police officers and the oversight of customer service complaints). |

Commander Colin Little - Cold Case Unit (The Cold Case Unit investigates unresolved historical crimes). |

Commander Tony Mulder - State Security Unit (The State Security Unit facilitates the development of whole-of-government policies relating to counter-terrorism and enhances operational capabilities for prevention, response and recovery in relation to terrorist threats). |
