Crime Prevention & Community Safety Council

Functions

The Crime Prevention & Community Safety Council:

  • promotes and assists the development, implementation and evaluation of crime prevention and community safety strategies
  • assists and supports the development of collaborative partnerships between the community and the three tiers of Government that focus on crime prevention and community safety
  • provides advice and information to the Tasmanian Government and the community on crime prevention and community safety issues
  • enhances community awareness of community safety issues and strategies
  • formally recognises outstanding Tasmanian crime prevention & community safety strategies through the annual Tasmanian Crime Prevention & Community Safety Awards in which certificates of merit are awarded
  • promotes grants and awards targeting crime prevention and community safety initiatives.
