Police Investigation of Launceston Vandalism

The Minister for Police and Emergency Management, Jim Cox, said Tasmania Police were following several leads in their investigation into a vandalism spree in South Launceston.

Mr Cox said he had requested a briefing on the investigation’s progress and his office had been advised by police that items from the area in the vicinity of the attacks had been retrieved that may help track down the vandals.

“I can assure the people who were victims of this senseless crime against the community of South Launceston that police are doing everything they can to apprehend the culprits.”

Mr Cox said he shared the victims’ anger at the crime.

“It is difficult to imagine how anyone could have such a lack of respect and regard for other people’s property.

“The actions of these individuals can only be condemned in the strongest terms, and I urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact Tasmania Police to assist them in their inquiries.” Crime Stoppers toll free number: 1800 333 000
