Tasmania Police Charity Trust donate $10,000 to benefit sick children in Tasmanian hospitals

On 18 September 2009, the Tasmania Police Charity Trust donated $10,000 to benefit sick children in Tasmanian hospitals.

There has been a huge response to the Trust’s fundraiser “Buff the Police Puppy” since it was launched on the 20th of July.

Profits from sales up to the 14th of August have reached $10,000 and were donated to the children’s services departments at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, the North West Regional Hospital and the Mersey Community Hospital.

“The Tasmanian community has embraced our latest recruit in fundraising, and their generosity will benefit sick children and their families,” said the Acting Commissioner of Police, Darren Hine.

“We have been overwhelmed by the demand for Buff, with over one thousand puppies finding a new home,” said Mr Hine.

“I would like to thank Westpac, MBF, Bridges Brothers and the Hawthorn Football Club for their support and assistance with sales.”
