Charges for use of counterfeit money

Tasmania Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old woman from Claremont in relation to using counterfeit money in the south of the state earlier this month.
The woman will appear in the Hobart Magistrate’s Court on August 8 on some 15 charges relating to uttering the counterfeit money at businesses from Claremont to Snug on June 15 and 16.
Some 30 counterfeit notes, all $50 denomination, have so far been recovered by Tasmania Police.
Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.
Police continue to be interested in information about a 1995 white Toyota Hilux flat tray registration number D03FM used by the offenders in the commission of the crimes.
