Approximately 6pm on Friday the 22^nd of July, 2016 a 46 year old woman from Queensland was struck by a bus at the intersection of Campbell Street and Macquarie Street.   The female was walking across Campbell Street toward the Grand Chancellor. The Metro bus was making a right hand turn from Macquarie Street onto Campbell Street.

The bus was being driven by a 60 year old man from Cygnet.  The pedestrian died at the scene.  The bus driver was not injured.  At the time of the incident there were no passengers on the bus.

Police would like to speak to any witnesses to the incident.
