MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH INTO DAM – BOYER ROAD, DROMEDARY

Approximately 9.20pm on 15 June 2018, police were called to a single motor vehicle crash off Boyer Road, east of Pegasus Drive intersection. Witnesses reported a vehicle had run off Boyer Road into a dam. Witnesses were unable to confirm if there were people trapped inside the vehicle.

On police arrival the vehicle was completely submerged in the dam.

Police Dive Squad, Forensic Services and New Norfolk SES were called to the scene.

Police divers were unable to confirm if there were people trapped in the vehicle due to poor visibility.

The vehicle was recovered from the dam and it was confirmed there was no one was inside.

A male person was located near the scene suffering from hypothermia. He was treated by Tasmania Ambulance and subsequently transported to RHH for treatment. The male person is assisting police with their inquiries.
