Tasmania Police Recruit Course 2/2015 & Tasmania Fire Service recruits training together.

Today recruit course 2/2015 will meet with Trainee fire fighters in a combined familiarisation training opportunity.

The Recruits will spend the afternoon at the TFS Cambridge training facility, participating in a number of scenarios which both responders would be called to attend.

The scenarios will include a ‘live burn’ of a vehicle and discussion around the hazards responders may encounter.

While both responders attend the same types of incidents it is important to understand each other’s role in certain situations to assist the timeliness of response and incident resolution.

This is one of the first times a combined training session has been enabled due to the timing of recruit courses.
