Community Protection Act 2005 - Public Consultation

The Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2005 (the Act) received Royal Assent and commenced on 1 March 2006 upon proclamation. At section 52 the Act provide for a review after the fifth anniversary.

  • 52. Minister to review and report on Act
    • (1) The Minister must carry out a review of the operation and effectiveness of this Act as soon as is practicable after the fifth anniversary of the commencement of this Act.
    • (2) The Minister must prepare a report based on the review and, as soon as is practicable after the report is prepared, must cause it to be laid before each House of Parliament.

Your comment is sought on the operation and effectiveness of this Act. Submissions will be received directly by an independent consultant, Quantum Consulting Australia, and will form part of the review of the Act due to be tabled in Parliament later in 2012.
