Dignitary Protection

The main function of Dignitary Protection is the provision of protective services for Dignitaries, Vice Regal, V.I.P.'s and other persons who are considered to be at risk within the State.

Additional functions include:

  • Conducting investigations into threats against Government agencies and individuals;
  • Assisting and advising State Government Departments and Federal and State Security Agencies on Protective Security matters;
  • Maintaining and administering the Witness Protection Program; and
  • Assist the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs with the removal of unlawful non-citizens/criminal deportees from the state.
