Application for Firearms Dealers Licence

The Firearms Act 1996 provides that a person can make an application for a firearms licence to deal in firearms. A person can deal in one or any combination of the Categories of firearms, as well as sell ammunition. Provision is also made in the application form for the applicant to nominate to be licensed only for dealing in ammunition.

The application must be lodged at a Service Tasmania outlet and in the presence of the receiving officer. There is a requirement that the applicant produce evidence of identity totalling 100 points (Acceptable methods of Identification form attached).
