Walkathons and Other Public Activities

Subject to the possibility that public activities, including walkathons, create a need for the closure of streets in which case the comments regarding closure of streets apply, and subject to the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 as they apply to such events, no permission is required from the Commissioner of Police.

In all such cases it is advised to speak with the local police station to advise of the event taking place, and to arrange some passing attention by police, if required.
