Tasmania Police Officers serve a population of half a million people within four geographical districts. In addition to the geographical districts there are five support commands. These are located in Hobart and provide specialist police services and a range of support services to all districts.
Tasmania Police State Headquarters is located in the Central Business District (CBD) in Tasmania's capital city Hobart. Each geographical district is managed from its own command headquarters. There are 74 Police Stations across the state. Travelling distance between district headquarters and police stations is comfortable due to Tasmania's geographical size.
The Tasmania Police Academy is located on Hobart's Eastern Shore, 19km from the CBD. The Academy is set on 29 hectares on virtual waterfront, overlooking picturesque Ralphs Bay.
