Firearms and Ammunition Transactions
In order to purchase a firearm or ammunition, you must have a current licence issued under the Firearms Act 1996.
You may sell a firearm under your Firearms Licence, however, all sales of firearms and ammunition must be done through a licenced firearms dealer.
It is a requirement under the Act that a firearms licence or permit to acquire a firearm cannot be granted before 28 days from the date the application is lodged.
If you wish to purchase a firearm or ammunition urgently, you may lodge an application for a permit to acquire a particular type of firearm with your application for a firearms licence.
