Sexual Assault Support Service

The Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) provides counselling, education, advocacy and preventative strategies, honouring individual resilience, while striving to achieve a community free of sexualised violence based on justice, equity and respect.

The SASS is based on the belief that sexual assault is a crime and an abuse of power. SASS is committed to the provision of a high quality service to empower survivors of sexual assault, as well as working towards the elimination of sexual violence. SASS provides services to people of all ages, religions, cultures, sexual orientations, abilities, ability and socio-economic groups.

The 24-hour SASS supports people who have been recently assaulted, assisting both the victim and the police. Support includes accompanying people whilst they make a statement to the police, and providing assistance through the court process.
