Telstra CountryWide Golf Day 2009
The Charity Trust and Telstra Country Wide combined forces again for the Charity Trust Golf Day held at the Tasmania Golf Club on Friday, 6 November 2009.
Twenty-one teams from national corporations, local businesses, government agencies and social clubs participated in the event with fantastic prizes on offer at the conclusion of the event for the four top teams. Even the worst score was rewarded with a voucher for golfing lessons from the club professional.
More importantly the auction at the conclusion of the competition saw keen interest and generous bidding for items on offer including sporting memorabilia, lunch for ten with the Acting Commissioner of Police and interstate travel opportunities.
In excess of $5,000 was contributed from the auction bringing the total raised for the day to approximately $14,000. An excellent result during a time when all businesses and government agencies have faced tough budgetary decisions and cutbacks.
The organising committee of Jean Henley, Lisa Featherstone, Kate Caston, Emma Boucher and Inspectors Phil Ling and Ian Lindsay are to be congratulated for their contribution to the event.
