$9,819 donation to Launceston General Hospital Paediatric Unit

The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Paediatric Unit expressed their appreciation to the Tasmania Police Charity Trust for making a donation of $9,819 in total, to enable the Paediatric Unit to upgrade their sleep study equipment.

The Tasmania Police Charity Trust has been able to purchase a transcutaneous carbon dioxide monitor (SenTec Digital Monitoring System) outright, and this equipment will provide comprehensive sleep study reports which will enable better data and diagnosis.  This equipment will greatly assist the Unit to provide improved treatment recommendations for children who have sleeping difficulties and who need to undergo sleep study tests.

Sonja Leonard, Nurse Unit Manager of the LGH has advised that “this equipment will complement the nursing and medical care delivered to the children in Northern Tasmania.”
