Country Club / LAFM Charity Golf Day 2012
The Tasmania Police Charity Trust Northern Golf Day was held on 14 November 2012, at the Country Club Tasmania. This was the 26th year that the Country Club and LAFM have been the major sponsors of this Charity Golf Day, with the Tasmania Police Charity Trust being the event beneficiary since 2006. Funds raised from this 2012 event will be shared with St Giles.
Twenty eight teams, comprising of three people per team, entered the event. Prior to tee-off, participants enjoyed a lunch in the Links Restaurant, followed by on-course beverages donated by J Boag & Sons and Coca Cola and hot dogs donated by Berties Butchery, Mowbray.
A wonderful afternoon of golf was enjoyed by all. All participants tried their hardest to win a hole-in-one prize of a Mitsubishi ASX, donated by Grant Jenkins of Launceston Mitsubishi; but unfortunately no participant was able to win the car.
1st Prize > a nights accommodation for two people and a round of golf at Country Club Tasmania > awarded to the winning team (Coca Cola)
2nd Prize > Blu-Ray DVD player donated by Harvey Norman Electrical > awarded to Blind Design (one player per team member)
3rd Prize > CocaCola merchandise pack > awarded to Country Club Greenkeepers.
Assistance was provided by sixteen wonderful volunteers on the day (from Tasmania Police, St Giles and Launceston City Lions Club). Volunteers also provided assistance, raising funds through the sale of raffle tickets.
A total of $5,700 was raised from this event, with the beneficiaties (Tasmania Police Charity Trust and St Giles) to received $2,850 each.
