South Hobart Restoration Works

The Tasmania Police Charity Trust have assisted a 14 year old girl and her 13 year old brother who were found to be living in premises which were uninhabitable.  Members of the Early Intervention and Youth Action Unit in Hobart alerted the Trust to the childrens’ circumstances.  Those members facilitated locating the children and liaising with many agencies to help the children and restore the home.

The Trust was approached to help contribute to the restoration works, and donated $2,500 was donated to pay for beds, bedding, and refurbishment of the floors and walls.

The Trust was appreciative of the compassion and commitment of the members of the Early Intervention and Youth Action Unit.  The endeavours of those members, together with the donation from the Trust and other organisations, have greatly improved the children’s health and well-being.

Importantly, the children are now being monitored and have the support of various organisations and their school.
