Sleep Out with the Salvos donation

The Tasmania Police Charity Trust was honoured to have a member of the Department of Police and Emergency Management take part in the annual Sleeping Out for the Salvos event on 14 August 2014.

Now in its fifth year, Sleeping Out for the Salvos enables business leaders, government members and prominent figures in the community, to come together in support of homelessness.

Sponsoring the State Emergency Services (SES) Director, Andrew Lea, to “sleep out” at the Hotel Grand Chancellor (Davey Street, Hobart) the Trust was proud to donate $500 to this worthy cause.

Since 2009, the event has raised over $300,000 to assist the Salvation Army’s Street to Home and other homelessness programs.
