No Bars On Books
Tasmania Police was pleased to collect donated children’s picture books for Risdon Prison inmates to read and record stories for their children to hear at home.
The No Bars On Books program supports literacy and family relationships for inmates at Risdon Prison. It aims to keep families connected to reduce the likelihood of re-offending.
The program is coordinated by Speech Pathology Tasmania.
The Tasmania Police Charity Trust donated $500 for the purchase of new books for the prison library.
