Bike Ride for Down Syndrome Tasmania
The Tasmania Police Charity Trust recently presented a cheque for $59,000 to Down Syndrome Tasmania (DST) following completion of their 10th annual Charity Bike Ride.
68 riders and support crew (including five riders and one support crew member who have completed all 10 rides) travelled from Cradle Mountain to Hobart via Strahan, Queenstown and Tarraleah.
Organised by Constable Richard Douglas, the Charity Bike Ride returned to support DST for their tenth ride, as they did following the inaugural ride 10 years ago.
DST supports young Tasmanians with Down Syndrome to achieve as much as possible to become productive members of our community, and to provide information and support to families when a child is born with Down Syndrome.
The next Bike Ride is scheduled for December 2017 and will support Variety for Kids Tasmania and Speak Up! Stay ChatTY.
