#32 – Parking Tickets
We hate giving parking tickets as much as motorists hate receiving them but we’re obliged to act on complaints received.
Police regularly get calls about motorists parked in the middle of the road where it’s not a parking area, and over people’s driveways.
A driver must not park:
- in the centre of a road unless it’s specifically signed as a parking area, this includes areas such as the middle of Carlton Street and the middle of Tasma Street between Murray and Elizabeth Streets.
- on a bicycle path, footpath, shared path, over a driveway, or on a nature strip adjacent to a length of road in a built-up area
Don’t’ be that person that does… you face a fine of $79.50 and your vehicle may be towed if considered parked in a dangerous or obstructive manner.
