Kids Kick Start Targa 2013
On Sunday, 14 April 2013, the Tasmania Police Charity Trust (the Trust) was pleased to be involved in the Kids Kick Start Targa event; for the seventh time.
The event provides eighty disadvantaged children with an opportunity to travel in Targa-prepared race-ready vehicles, hotrods and marked police cars; on a County Club Tasmania circuit.
The children involved experience a great day out; they get to work the lights and sirens, have fun with the volunteers, and travel in exciting vehicles.
Children participating in the event also receive a show-bag specially designed for the event, and filled with items from corporate sponsors including exercise books and pencils from Staples (formerly: Corporate Express), and wrapped Freddo Frogs from D’Anvers Chocolates.
The event is a great deal of fun for everyone involved, including police officers, volunteers and children, and provides positive encouragement to disabled children and young people, highlighting that police officers are approachable, friendly and there to assist in times of need.
The Trust extends their appreciation to everyone involved on the day, including police officers, the Country Club Tasmania, and Alan Stevenson of Bringing Motorsport to the Disabled. Alan does a great job in coordinating the event, and organising the vehicles and drivers for a fun and memorable day.
The Trust looks forward to continuing their association with this great event, and bringing lots of smiles to children’s faces, in future years.
