Women in Policing

Just over 30% of Tasmania’s Police officers are women and we are looking for more to join the team.

We offer interesting work where you will be constantly learning and challenging yourself whilst at the same time adding value to the community.  Your comfort zone will be challenged and expanded upon on a daily basis and your ability to adapt your communication style to the situation, to solve problems and make time critical decisions will help you make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Women have come a long way in our society and by joining Tasmania Police you will have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others and be a champion for change.  Did you know that in the 1970’s Tasmanian policewomen were finally allowed to wear the same uniform as the policemen and we were given pay parity.  Issues like that are in the past and we now do every job equally with our male counterparts and are all treated as equal members of the same team.

If you love working in cohesive, close knit teams in a constantly changing environment, then policing might just be for you.
