Australia Day Honours 2010
The service and dedication of two long serving Tasmania Police officers has been recognised in this year’s Australia Day Honours List. The Australian Police Medal for distinguished service has been awarded to Sergeant Patrick McMahon and Senior Constable Stephen Timmins.
Comment sought on Working with Children and other Vulnerable People Discussion Paper
The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking comment on the establishment of a centralised system for checking those who work with children and other vulnerable people. Comments provided will be used to inform the development and implementation of the model.

Wheel clamping laws in effect in Tasmania
