Emergency Services were called to an industrial accident at a business on Risdon Road, Lutana in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 34-year-old male employee sustained serious burns to his body as a result of a suspected spontaneous explosion.

The man was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in relation to serious injuries.

There were no other injuries sustained by anyone else during the incident.

The matter has been referred to Worksafe Tasmania who also attended.
