Police request witnesses to dangerous driving

Hobart CIB are seeking witnesses to a dangerous driving incident in Mount Nelson tonight involving a silver Nissan Skyline coupe evading police.

Around 6pm the Nissan coupe was travelling south on the Southern Outlet when it turned onto Proctors Road at Mount Nelson near Olinda Grove where police attempted to intercept the vehicle.

The driver drove directly at a police officer who was on foot at the time, then dangerously crossed onto the incorrect side of the road, back onto the Southern Outlet and left the scene.

The police officer was not physically injured in the incident.

Police are urging anyone who saw the vehicle travelling around the time of the incident, or who has information that would assist them to identify the driver at the time or to locate the car to contact Hobart CIB on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
