Serious motor vehicle crash at Riana

Police and emergency services attended a serious single vehicle crash on Pine Road, Riana earlier this morning.

Around 9.30am, police and emergency services were called to a crash where a 33-year-old woman from the North West Coast lost control of her blue Toyota sedan and hit a tree.

The woman was trapped in her vehicle for a short time before members of Tasmania Fire Services rescue were able to extract her.

She was transported to the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie by Ambulance Tasmania for treatment of non-life threatening but significant lower body injuries.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
