Shark sighting – 7 Mile Beach Stanley

A warning to swimmers and boaties that police have received a report of a large shark off Seven Mile Beach, at Stanley, in the state’s North-West.

A fisherman has reported the 3-4m shark, believed to be a Great White, got caught up in his line while he was fishing off the beach earlier this evening.

The shark was cut free and it swam away, so people should be aware of the potential risks of going into the water in that area.
