A major crime investigation is underway into the discovery of human remains at Hollybank last night.
Train derailment
At approximately 2130hrs on Friday 1 April 2011 police attended a train derailment that occurred at Penguin.
Fire at La Bella Pizza
At 9:14pm on Thursday 31st March 2011, Police and Tasmania Fire Service were called to attend a fire at La Bella Pizza in New Norfolk.
Second person charged over robbery
As a result of ongoing investigations conducted by the Eastern District Criminal Investigation a 33 year old man has been charged with the Aggravated Armed Robbery committed at an Eastern Shore pharmacy in October.

Major Crime Investigation – Laying of Charges
Tasmania Police are currently conducting a major crime investigation in southern Tasmania in relation to previously unreported death. As a result of these investigations, a 39 year old Bagdad man has been charged with murder and two females have been charged with being Accessories after the fact of murder.
