The Bruny Island search for United States national Rachel Funari will today focus on the shoreline and cliffs in the Fluted Cape area.

Acting Assistant Commissioner (Crime and Operations), Geoffrey Smith, said an operational debrief into the shooting at Beechford yesterday will consider whether there were other less lethal options that may have been effective in the circumstances.

A 33-year-old man has been shot in an incident involving police at Beechford, near Bridport. The man is in a stable condition in the Launceston General Hospital.

At 4.30a.m on Tuesday 15 March 2011, the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter was activated to attend Mooreville, south of Burnie in response to a 72 year old male patient suffering from a heart condition and hypothermia.
