Tasmania Police Marine Division is responding to the activation of three parachute flares at the Southern end of Hunter Island last at 10 pm last night.

Dog Rescued From Underground

Tasmania Police Search and Rescue officers and SES volunteers have used their skills to rescue a fox terrier dog trapped five metres underground in a limestone cavity near Beaconsfield, in Northern Tasmania.

Youth Charged with Taxi driver assault

Launceston police have charged a 17 year old youth with charges of assault; destroy property and breach of bail after an incident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 24 year old man from Geeveston is in a critical condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital after a two vehicle crash on the Huon Highway this morning.
