Members of Tasmania Police continue to man roadblocks in fire affected areas in and around Glen Dhu and Collins Cap.

Helicopter crash

At approximately 5pm Thursday 7th February 2013, 4 helicopters were engaged in water bombing on the bushfire at Molesworth. One helicopter, piloted by a 52 year old Hobart man, crashed into a clearing near the bushfire.  Upon escaping the downed aircraft and the nearby bushfire, the pilot was conveyed from the scene by the Tasmania Police Rescue…

Huonville PCYC closed

Traffic is again flowing on the Huon Highway. As a result, the Huonville PCYC is no longer operating as a place for motorists to await access.

Molesworth fire investigation

Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire that started on Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of Glen Dhu road, Molesworth.

Residents advised to leave – between Molesworth & Collinsvale

Tasmania Police are assisting the TFS in door-knocking residents between Molesworth and Collinsvale to advise them to leave the area immediately for a safer place.

Police are keen to to find information about a silver Subaru station wagon sighted in the area of the burglary late on Sunday night.

Fatal Pedestrian and vehicle collision Mowbray

A 62 year old man from Ravenswood,conducting traffic control duties on Vermont Road, Mowbray yesterday was struck by a vehicle and subsequently died from his injuries.

Detectives from Kingston CIB are investigating and seeking assistance from the public in relation to an aggravated burglary and stealing committed overnight in Snug.
