Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash (26-Jan)

At approximately 6.00pm today 26/1/2014 a single vehicle crash occurred on the Murchison Highway at Oonah, 4km south from Lances Road which resulted in the death of a 26 year old Somerset man.

Sudden Death – 58 year old male at Roaring Beach Nubeena

At approximately 1:15pm Police and Tasmania Ambulance Service were called to a report of a male person unconscious at Roaring Beach Nubeena.

House Fire Carlton Place Bridgewater

At 2230hrs on Monday 27th January 2014 police and personnel from Tasmanian Fire Service attended Carlton Place in relation to a house fire.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash (26-Jan) Drivers Name Released

Tasmania Police have released the name of the driver of a red 4wd Toyota Hilux who was killed in a single vehicle crash on the Murchison Highway at Oonah on Australia Day.

Two Tasmania Police officers have been recognised in this year’s Australia Day Honours.

Stolen Runabout

Police are seeking assistance in locating a 6.35M Stacer runabout valued at about $70 000.00 which was reported stolen from the Southport area between 9:00pm on Tuesday 21 January 2014 and 11:00 am on Friday 24 January 2014.

Assault/Attempted Robbery Sandy Bay

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed an assault upon a woman, on King Street, Sandy Bay in the vicinity of Lasswade Avenue. The incident occurred around 10pm on Sunday the 19th of January 2014.

Around 5:00am this morning, Tasmanian Fire Service and Tasmania Police responded to a report of a fire at the Wilmot Country Store.

Information Required About A Car Used In The Commission Of Murder

Detectives investigating the Pine Avenue murder would like to speak to anyone who saw a 1991- 1994 year model light blue coloured Mitsubishi Magna sedan in the vicinity of Pine Avenue in Kingston, or driving through the city along Macquarie Street or the Brooker Highway to Glenorchy after midnight or the early hours of Saturday morning.
