Serious Cyclist/Truck Collision – Blackmans Bay

A 50 year old cyclist from Blackmans Bay was seriously injured as a result of a collision with a truck on Brightwater Road Blackmans Bay approximately 7.30am Wednesday the 22nd of January, 2014.

New Norfolk Police are seeking to contact a woman who visited the New Norfolk Newsagency at around 9:40am on Monday 20th January 2014.

EPIRB Activation – Partridge Island

On Tuesday 21 January 2014 at approximately 1.50pm AMSA activated the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to search for an EPIRB activation in the vicinity of Partridge Island, near Dover.

Murder Charge

Detectives have today charged a 19 year old man from Hobart with murder.

Wounding in Kings Meadows – Man Charged

At 12.05am Sunday 12 January 2014 a 27 year old motorist stopped to speak to two men after an item was thrown at his vehicle. One of the men approached his car and an altercation took place with the driver receiving a knife wound to his right arm.

Drugs and Firearms Seizure – Cressy (19 Jan)

On Sunday, 19 January 2014 Longford Police executed a search warrant upon a property situated at Cressy.

Theft of Poppy Heads – Tea Tree

Sometime in the early hours of Sunday the 19th of January 2014, offenders have entered a poppy field situated at Tea Tree (Southern Tasmania). A quantity of poppy heads were stolen. Police are concerned that if consumed, these poppies may cause serious illness or death.

Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death At Kington (Update 2)

Just prior to midnight on Friday 17 January 2014 a 41 year man was shot and subsequently died at a private house in Pine Avenue in Kingston. The man was discovered in the backyard of the house. Detectives and Forensic Personnel are still conducting investigations into the man’s death from the police command bus in Pine Avenue.

At approximately 11pm on Saturday 18 January 2014, police officers from the Western District Support Division were conducting speed checks on the Bass Highway at Rocky Cape.

Investigations by Detectives and support personnel have continued throughout the day into the death of a 41 year old man. The man was shot at a private house in Pine Avenue, Kingston.
