Failure to wear seatbelts

Police in the Devonport area have observed an increase in drivers and passengers failing to wear seatbelts whilst travelling in motor vehicles.

P-Plater clocked travelling at 150kph

A 26 year old P-plater has been caught by police travelling 70kph over the speed limit.

Elimattah Hotel Fire

About 7.45pm on Friday 25 July 2014, a patron entering the Elimattah Hotel reported a fire in Room 22 to staff. Tasmania Fire Service attended and extinguished the fire, managing to contain it to the one room which is adjoined to others and separate to the main Hotel building.

Ulverstone Jetty Vandalism

Ulverstone Police are appealing for information following the vandalism of the jetty at the Ulverstone boat ramp in Flora St.

Damage at Port Dalrymple High School

Between 4.30pm, Friday 18th July 2014 and 10.00am, Sunday 20th July 2014 offenders have caused significant damage to the gymnasium at the Port Dalrymple High School on Agnes Street in George Town.

Assault at Hobart Regatta Grounds – further information

Police investigating an alleged assault at the Hobart Regatta Grounds are interested in speaking with anyone who may have had their vehicle parked in the vicinity of the public toilets later in the evening.

Teenagers charged with Aggravated armed robberies

On Tuesday 22 July 2014 Launceston CIB detectives charged a 17 year old Prospect girl and a 16 year old Invermay boy with their involvement in both aggravated armed robberies.

Police Seeking Possible Witnesses – Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Police are seeking the driver or any passengers of a vehicle that was travelling north on the West Tamar Highway at Sidmouth, at 6.10pm on Friday 11th July 2014.

Assault at Domain Soccer Ovals (6-June)

Police have charged a 47 year old man in relation to the alleged assault on the domain soccer grounds on Friday 6 June 2014. The man will appear in the Hobart Magistrates court at a later date.

Two Armed Robberies in Launceston (21-July)

Shortly after 8.30pm on Monday 21 July 2014 a young man entered the Himalayan Kitchen on Invermay Road Mowbray armed with a metal bar.
