Money Transfer Scam

Recently Tasmania Police have received a number of reports from people who have fallen victim to a money transfer scam originating overseas, predominantly India.

Structure Fire – Wynyard Show Grounds (5-March)

Approximately 1:20am on Wednesday 5 March 2014, the Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police attended a structure fire at the Wynyard Show Grounds.

Charges

Today, Detectives from Glenorchy CIB interviewed and charged a 20 year old man from Bridgewater with demanding property with menaces arising from the incident at Bridgewater McDonalds last weekend.

Protester Arrested

Earlier today Hobart Police arrested a 58 year old man from Brisbane for failing to comply with the direction of a police officer, under the provisions of the recently enacted Reproductive Health (Access to Terminations) Act 2013.

Demand Property With Menaces Mcdonalds Restaurant, Bridgewater

At 6.40am on Sunday 2 March 2014 two males have entered McDonalds Restaurant situated at Midlands Highway, Bridgewater.

Police investigated cruelty to animal posted on Facebook

Police and the RSPCA have been made aware of a Facebook post depicting a video of animal cruelty. As a result of this information, on Saturday the 1st March 2014, police conducted a search in Somerset.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter recovers injured cyclist near Wayatinah

At 11.00am this morning the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to attend a cycling accident on the Lyell Highway approximately 2km north-west of Wayatinah towards Tarraleah.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Mission – Big Gun Pass

At 13.50 hours on Thursday 27 February 2014, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by Australian Search and Rescue to attend a PLB activation in the Du Cane Range area in the Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair national park.
